What a weekend!
THURSDAY. Picked up Groundel and went to Western plaza to check out jeans… mine are too tight to be used any longer. Got frustrated at one store, then things looked up at the megastore, where at least I got a pair to wipe away part of the woes. LightShadow met us there, so we all browsed the whole store while gossiping, whining and having fun. Baby stuff is quite pricey and that is beyond frustrating as well. Baby got its first gifts from LightShadow as well, who had bought a monitor, a grooming kit and a health kit for the baby. It was really funny that a week ago when she mentioned the items I thought she was gonna get something for kitties… and I wondered why. LOL Cat people and their obsessive behaviors… Many thanks to LS, she really surprised me with that one. The baby-mode is still kicking in into me, so bear with me… I’m not maternal and I dislike prissy stuff… But the time has come to make arrangements and make way for whatever it is… Also, LightShadow is finally graduating from the computer science thinguie. Much success sent her way! It’s her second degree at RUM, so it’s her second labor. :P Hope she gets the job she deserves, and that she gets to keep on studying. That’s what us bookworms like to do anyway… and in the end is very worth it.
FRIDAY. Went to auntie’s as I got out, but there was no food at all, so I went home so at least I could have some ramen with veggies. Entertained myself checking up the mage’s computer and erasing unused programs while adding useful ones. Found some pics on CDs and added them to the folders as well. Finally in bed after midnight.
SATURDAY. Went with the mage to browse for cradles. Loved the cat statues that we bumped into… Sadly could not buy any of them. Anyway, the best bet is a trio that they sell as combo, featuring cradle, changer and dresser. They only have it in oak and mahogany colors, so I asked Coriolis to check the megastore over there in the Metro area to see if they have it in white. If not, I guess oak will do… I like mahogany but spiders could disguise themselves too easily in it. After the mall, we went to get some Chinese mofongo, and to get some minor household items at the hardware store. Went to watch Spiderman 3. The movie was ok… A bit linear, the actors are definitively aging and not looking as good as they used to… MJ didn’t get to look as lovely as she use to, and the blonde one was not pretty at all… I still don’t get the new Hollywood standards, honest! The Spidey/Venom conflict was ok, not bad but could have been a bit better. Sandman was completely idiotic, and his storyline changed from the evil entity in the comics to the moral thief in the movie… And Harry… well… they had to go full circle ith the avenging the father and being best friends thinguie. I just don’t get why kill off main villains just for the sake of it (like Dr.Octopus… but I guess that has to do with actors wanting to act just once… and the director keeping the characters with a single face). Sam Raimi rules. He managed to keep the comic book feel integrity. And to feed his family… as Ted and his daughter make hilarious cameos as well as his dear friend Bruce Campbell).
SUNDAY. Got the bugs at Groundel’s home and then went to auntie’s to do some laundry and make the murals for the birthday thinguie next week. That kinda took all my energy… Arrived almost at 10pm to the house… Not feeling too sleepy, and the Arachnophobia showdown didn’t help either… Three in one night, how nice… So, watched some Pullo before bedtime (Rome) and then to bed… almost at 2am… Waking up was hard to do…
Monday. Been Matching computers with their users plus checking the antivirus status on them… The morning went quite fast, I almost forgot to take my break, and hd the shivers by 11am… had some grits and a mandarin orange that stabilized things… Co-worker gave me some info and a book to read about breast feeding, plus shared some of the woes and joys of the whole process. She lacked help and information at first, and it all was uphill. Can you believe her husband actually bathed the baby for the first time when she was 10 months old? So many stories I’ve heard by now, and men behave as chauvinist ass-wipes in most of them. I guess it goes to show me I should be very grateful that although the mage ain’t a handyman, he does try his best to share everything from daily life showing interest in every detail and expressing plenty of care and concern. I am lucky I have someone at my side that will help me all along, because he wants to. Anyway… Gotta pick up Groundel after work so we paint the bugs, and hopefully do enough by 9:00pm. I need to sleep, badly!
So… Days running faster than a speeding bullet… Much to do, much more showing up… and almost no time to comply with everything. Gotta love being an adult… Right…
