Groundel @ hospital (how strange) and then some

(not treats but what the heck...)

Ah, the mission… Groundel is in the hospital… Again. He was complaining about leg pain on Wednesday, and then last night. He told me to forget about it, and then called me at 10pm saying he had a fever. Oh, by now I really know what that means… Since I was quite beat and drained and kinda pondered if I could drive or not I got really anxious and nervous and so started vomiting… The mage arrived early, found me quite distressed and was to make his good deed of the week… But I called up and one of Groundel’s friends was around. I gave him the very sound and clear instructions to take Groundel to the hospital, not the clinic, so they could take care of him in case of complications… and to call me from ER when they had news. Two hours later, ChickenBig called teling me that they had taken Groundel’s pressure and that he was without fever by then, and that they were waiting for the doctor to give the go so they could take him home. I laughed at that, and the boy became silent. I asked if they had put the suerito on Groundel’s arm, and he said no. So I gave him the free prediction: Groundel shall stay all night long and you guys can go home… they won’t let him go because he has an infection and will give intra-vein medicines. And so, that’s what happened. I got no further calls, but had a light and not so restful sleep.

The mage had to go to get some government papers, so he got up quite early. I took the same train so I could go to the hospital before going to work. Yup, Groundel was at ER, gave him a peanut butter sandwich and a Snapple courtesy of the mage, and then went to work… He expected to be out by midday. I kinda laughed at that, for I knew that a nice resort would be around the corner… I got a call from Groundel before lunchtime. He needed someone to go there and fill up the admissions papers. His doctor had passed by and has seen everything was ok, but wanted to keep medicating the leg to be sure that the infection would be completely gone. So now he has to stay for a few days at the Perea Resort… three meals a day, A/C, cable and phone included in the package. I’ll make certain he gets a bottle of sunless tanning lotion… so he can later on brag about having gone on vacation or something… LOL Oh, well… At least he will be able to sleep now… He was not sleeping more than 4 hours a day because eof the heat and the overall ambience at his so-called home. Perhaps the small vacation is just what he needed to lighten up a bit… The only thing now is that I cannot be hibernating at the hospital to keep him company because of my pregnancy… I have to stay away from sick people and germs. So that will be something… Hopefully his clan of friends will visit enough to make him feel not so left out.

This is a long weekend, and all in all we’ll try to take some time to smell the roses… The Mage and I have been fuzzing too much with the house and everything else that comes with it, and so we may at least take one day off.

Oh, and there may be some hope for the spider invasion at home… Although I am very skeptic about it, a coworker that lives near my house expressed how he keeps the critters at bay, with an electronic pest repellant. He warned me that the first two weeks I will see them everywhere, as they will be forced outside their shelter, but that after that they will be gone. So… If that really works, it is a priceless advise. My next mission…LOL About the comejen invation, he tells me that from april to early june it is normal for them to buzz around annoying everyone. That later on they vanish… And the aftermath is that you get a house with everything wooden filled with it… so I better beware and fumigate everything to make sure that is taken care of…

Work has been very slow. I just need the cold comfort of the office… Outside, the environment is raging and it is simply too much! The world keeps on spinning, and a promise of a new day lives on… The Almighty insists on having fun, and who are we to deny him of it?
