El Calvo is alive, ALIVE!

After quite a few months without being able to visit or find El Calvo at his home in Neverland, finally found him yesterday's night. How is the guy? Well, seems that the DaVinci Code has made some things in his life. He has always been a historian and a theologyst with much expertise on many, many themes... He began a few years ago studying towards a M.A. in Theology, but didn't kept on taking courses. After the movie, he's become his old bookwork finding the true tales behind the fiction... What a voyage! Now he's playing with the idea of getting a MA in History instead. Cool. Did you know that Mary Magdalene was NOT a prostitute? That was a mis-interpretation made by a Bible translation on the 3rd Century... Interesting stuff.

Finally made it to see X-men III. Angry about Magneto (who would never leave Mistique the way he did), angry about Wolverine (who is not as savage and stubborn as he should be), angry about Storm (who even Magneto considers a goddess in the comics and whose powers are depicted at a minimum), angry about Xavier's death ( WTF?WTF?WTF? again WTF?) and definitively angry about Phoenix (or should I say "lack of Phoenix" since she never introduces herself as such, and she doesn't even have the firebird aura around her). It's always about the lovestory Scott-Jean-Wolverine... and it sucked so much... The only scene I definitively enjoyed was Scott's death (I really HATE that guy!). I guess that after reading the script Patrick Steward begged to make this his last movie, since they are detouring so much from the storylines of the comics... I think that yes, there is freedom of creation or interpretation... but this is the Xmen, and they have been for years even before I was born... And they kept an audience because they have quite some intrinate plots within plots. I don't see why Marvel endorsed this movie... Ok, that is angry me speaking...beause I know... Consumerism... Giving mutants to the new generation who doesn't know what that is and is not into actually reading about it... All for making money. It doesnt matter that you let down all those followers that for more than 25 years have loyally followed the lives of KittyPride, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, MarvelGirl (the way Jean Grey should have been named in the 3 movies... then Dark Phoenix... then Phoenix DAMNIT!)... The spotlight on all other mutants that in reality came into the stories after Generation X was a very, very bad idea. Let's see how DC Comics delivers GhostRider and IronMan before I start praising them... they stick to at least more than 50% of the stories, while Marvel allowed for a complete X-men overhaul! Why they didn't followed Spiderman's example? The world may never know...

Hunt for sandals finished. Not too happy but, whatever. Today got the things for the kitties... So tomorrow I shall change their litterboxes and spot-clean their room. Gotta love them...
