Or they just seem so...
Tuesday afternoon, no news from the car people and rain threatened as usual. LightShadow appeared to the rescue, and using her magical powers she teleported me home. Since I craved some real food, I took the liberty of actually cooking something… the idea was to surprise the mage as he would arrive early that night… The mage appeared soon enough, with food of his own and a beautiful bouquet of roses. Since he craved some real food too, we left the chicken for the next day. He had rented some movies, but since he had to get up early we decided to watch just one: Kokkuru… Gosh… Long boring attempt at a ghost story that somehow tapped on lesbian love to end up in death… Whatever… The whole movie was slow, predictable, boring and failed to give a scare. Oh, well…
Wednesday, Independence Day! Gosh, I remember the times of ID4 and the commotion it created… Seems like ages ago… The mage had to wake up with the chickens to make it to work at 6am. He called me around 8am, letting me know he had called the hojalatero and that they were working, so the car should be fixed in the afternoon. I was like, whatever, and went back to sleep. The heat woke me up around 10am, so I started to arrange all misplaced things on the second floor, trying to place things in a kitty-friendly way… Now that’s a quest! I dislike the idea of taking the kitties out of their room, they have grown used to it and it is a better way to control their wherabouts when there is no human around… But sadly, without cash there’s nothing else I can do but bear with it… Maybe later on I’ll be able to actually do a room for them… In the meantime… Put things in order, ate something, and by 1pm I started feeling really bad. By 3pm I was throwing up, was completely breathless and sweating like hell… Damn, that house and heatstrokes! One cannot pass a midday there without getting something thanks to the high temperatures… The hojalatero called around 3:30pm saying the car was done, and the mage arrived a little after that… I was out, but had to make an effort to go get the car, four days without it had proven a pain in the whoohoo… So we went, he checked things and it all seemed fine (I was too in zombie mode to actually notice anything) and so we made it back home.
Over there, the happy trio (Raven, Groundel & LightShadow) was waiting seated on beach chairs and surrounded by red ants… Geesh, Anthill is a name that fits too well… Those little things don’t give a break! I just said hi and went straight to the bedroom, I just couldn’t stand being standing any longer. Nausea and dizziness is quite a bitch. So it seems I dozed off quite fast, when I woke up it was around 7pm, and the mage was finishing cleaning the dishes. He gave me a briefing of the cleaning crew and the tasks done. They worked quite fast on it all, apparently without any drama. Wheee o algo. A government car passed by saying that they would throw some poison for the mosquitoes early in the morning, so we had to close the whole house, leaving the kitties away from their room (as there are two broken windows in there)… Nothing like living in a microwave oven… So, heated up the BBQ chicken and watched the other two movies: Unrest and Wes Craven’s New Nightmares. UNREST: Good with tension, it surprised me with the Aztec disturbance idea… The acting was not so bad, the setting was appropriate to create the right atmosphere, the creepiness of the dead bodies was excellent. A common idea executed surprisingly well. Nice rental. NEW NIGHTMARES: Ugh! I don’t know… the idea of real life mixed with the movies is not so original, and it didn’t do it for me. If I want to see an insane child and a desperate mom I rather watch The Omen. So I still think that the good one was the first one… period.
At 4:30am I woke up as I heard the noise from the poison truck… As I was commenting that to the mage, the smell of it invaded everything leaving me nauseous once more… dizzy and with a big headache. There’s no end to it… Either the house hates me because it is EVIL, or Anthill hates me because it is EVIL! There’s no other way of putting it… I don’t feel well, but came to work anyway because I know that if I stay at home the heat will make things worst… I don’t know if I’ll be able to stay sane with this seemingly stupid problem… which turns into a big headache and into instant life disruption. Between the restless nights and the heatstrokes on daylight I get no rest at all. It sucks badly… And the A/C keeps laughing at me while seating in the floor… Grrr!
