Rainbow Brite!

Finally, something RIGHT!

This weekend was all about colors… at least about painting and colors… Friday night I went to pick up Groundel, we ate and then he called LightShadow to find out she was meeting with Raven at the local bookstore... so he was summoned as well... I left him there and headed home. Bleached half of my hair, and around 9pm got a call from someone who wanted to check the area I wanted to trim in the house... So, the Cook and the Cockguy made it to the far away land, and Cockguy agreed to pass by Saturday to do the job. Yay!

On Saturday, had to leave my car early in the morning at the hojalatero, who gave me the lovely news that the work will be a hundred more and that some pieces had to be bought new which adds two hundred more… for a grand total of $500… The mage went to get new brakes and oil for his car, and we found time to even visit the Plaza del Mercado to get a pinapple, papaya and strawberries. Arrived at home in the afternoon and so we started priming/painting the parts that belong to the left side of the house… Fun & music & work…Oh, lovely orange and lovely yellow... The place will either look like a bright sunflower or the entrance to hell. Yay! Also dyed my bleach hair in lovely vampyr red... Finally feel like I'm 50% myself again.

Around mid-afternoon got a call from Cockguy that was to pass by to trim the jungle. So he got there and put his equipment to work. In the meanwhile, LightShadow appeared with Groundel and stayed trying to help for a little while. They ended up getting some chicken pinchos at RedCape, which were yummy! And after finishing a wall’s edge and getting some of their clothes messed up with paint, they had to go. The guy at the jungle finished his job and got paid for his valiant effort. And so, the mage and I were left alone as in the start… Night fell upon us, the first coat of the walls was done, and we were left a lot cranky and tired. The mage had a strong headache, dehydration and upset stomach followed with nausea and eye pain. Yup, heatstroke, for short. I was not feeling too good myself, both sides of my belly hurt, so I retreated to my den and dozed off for what was left of the day.

Sunday, woke up before midday, enjoyed some chit-chat with the mage before he headed towards work (this week he’ll try getting more hours to try balancing expenses…). Began drying up my hair to see the results and yes, flaming red under the black top. Loved it! By midday I was all alone in that house, wondering what to do… No car, no food… Blah… Thought about scrapbooking, but without the facilities that is no fun… So decided to give the whole room the mandatory second coat of paint. Began the task at 1pm… Again, LightShadow and Groundel appeared in the middle of the afternoon, offering some help. They started cleaning outside, but then Groundel began feeling really bad thanks to his open wound in his foot and to having only breakfast in his body… So, off they went to gather food… I kept on painting. Upon their second arrival I left things undone to eat, preach Groundel about his foot, and then preach some more about his attitude with/about the mage (which is beginning to bother me a lot). Nightfall was coming, and so they went, not before catching a glimpse at the bird from hell that always starts talking in my window at 5am each morning, a pitirre. So, after they left, I kept on finishing the painting quest. I dared to go up the stairs and do the trim near the ceiling, being very slow and taking my time going up and down… I don’t need to break Deirdre’s head yet. Around 9pm the mage arrived, opening the door to find me on the stairs doing the last of the trim… Ok, so I was busted… LOL It was when I went down and looked at the bag with the veggie sandwich that I felt suddenly tired… So, took a bath, ate my dinner and finally went to bed. Weekend came to an end…

Monday morning… I just wanted to stay sleeping, but duty… Damn duty, give me my favorite pillow! Oh, well… The mage delivered me at work, and so the whole day has passed… System was down at Aguadilla, giving problems… Couldn’t do much since there was noone to take me there and I had no car. At midday a coworker gave me her lasagna (a real lasagna, meat and cheese… I was in heaven!) and I sent for a baked potato and a side salad. Spent part of the afternoon outside my office, talking it out to avoid falling asleep. Got someone to take me to the hojalatero to get my car when I get off work… Hopefully it will be done. I just want to go home and sleep…
