Rain and brains

...

Not feeling too talkative. Tired and busy, mostly. This last weekend was sucky, rain disturbed all the plans... Did saw some movies, though...

Fantastic 4: Burp! That's my opinion. Liked the Silver Surfer, hated Reed and Sue, absolutely hated Jessica Alba (why, why, why, WHY was she casted as Sue?), dissapointed at DrDoom (but no one can performs miracles with such a bad script)... The best thing was Galactus, and you only see him once, so imagine...

Arang: A korean horror flick... mixed with some detective work (God, detectives that don't even use gloves to conceal their prints... Hmmm)... All in all, I liked it. Plenty of burrowed moments from diverse asian flicks (the long haired gal with blood-shot eyes, the deadly email & website, the ruthless revenge, the creepy sounds and play with ambience/shadows)... But the Mother & Child allegory throughout the film was really nice. Sad and creepy when the body of the mother & child are found... Haven't seen rape portrayed as it was in here, as core of all events for the girls grudge and the detective's desire to find someone... A good rental.

Wicked Little Things: LOL The Horrorfest flicks are turning out as very amusing linear films that are not so bad... We know what it is about, but the way they unfold the story is entertaining enough to keep interest on it. In this one, we expect the mindless zombie kids who died in a mine by 1913... We get a present day mom turned widow, left with only this creepy hill house in the middle of nowhere, and who decides to move into it (no more choices, she's alone and broke, and with a girl and a teenager). I really liked the forest shots, eerie and darkly beautiful. The mom slowly learns about her husband's family past, the truth about the local lore, the "ghosts" of the mines, and fights the real enemy. A bit corny, of course... but what the heck... much better than Freddy vs Jason, that's certain! Another good rental in a boring night.

Need to get my medical record at El Fondo, to see if the AEELA thinguie can move and be approved for July... If not, I guess August will do... Whatever. I'm quite drained from all that's going on. Deirdre feeds off my energy, leaving me with almost no resources to do the basics. I want to sleep and can't because of the friggin heat. Want to paint, but the rain wont let me... Want to trim the house surroundings but HELLO! can't even pick up a pick... LOL Oh, well... Guess that I'll stay making plans, writing them down, figuring out how to schedule them on the mage's agenda without killing him... I really feel like doing absolutely NOTHING. I just want to be floating in a shaded swimming pool, surrounded by blackberry ice pops. Wishful thinking...
