Rain and brains

...

Not feeling too talkative. Tired and busy, mostly. This last weekend was sucky, rain disturbed all the plans... Did saw some movies, though...

Fantastic 4: Burp! That's my opinion. Liked the Silver Surfer, hated Reed and Sue, absolutely hated Jessica Alba (why, why, why, WHY was she casted as Sue?), dissapointed at DrDoom (but no one can performs miracles with such a bad script)... The best thing was Galactus, and you only see him once, so imagine...

Arang: A korean horror flick... mixed with some detective work (God, detectives that don't even use gloves to conceal their prints... Hmmm)... All in all, I liked it. Plenty of burrowed moments from diverse asian flicks (the long haired gal with blood-shot eyes, the deadly email & website, the ruthless revenge, the creepy sounds and play with ambience/shadows)... But the Mother & Child allegory throughout the film was really nice. Sad and creepy when the body of the mother & child are found... Haven't seen rape portrayed as it was in here, as core of all events for the girls grudge and the detective's desire to find someone... A good rental.

Wicked Little Things: LOL The Horrorfest flicks are turning out as very amusing linear films that are not so bad... We know what it is about, but the way they unfold the story is entertaining enough to keep interest on it. In this one, we expect the mindless zombie kids who died in a mine by 1913... We get a present day mom turned widow, left with only this creepy hill house in the middle of nowhere, and who decides to move into it (no more choices, she's alone and broke, and with a girl and a teenager). I really liked the forest shots, eerie and darkly beautiful. The mom slowly learns about her husband's family past, the truth about the local lore, the "ghosts" of the mines, and fights the real enemy. A bit corny, of course... but what the heck... much better than Freddy vs Jason, that's certain! Another good rental in a boring night.

Need to get my medical record at El Fondo, to see if the AEELA thinguie can move and be approved for July... If not, I guess August will do... Whatever. I'm quite drained from all that's going on. Deirdre feeds off my energy, leaving me with almost no resources to do the basics. I want to sleep and can't because of the friggin heat. Want to paint, but the rain wont let me... Want to trim the house surroundings but HELLO! can't even pick up a pick... LOL Oh, well... Guess that I'll stay making plans, writing them down, figuring out how to schedule them on the mage's agenda without killing him... I really feel like doing absolutely NOTHING. I just want to be floating in a shaded swimming pool, surrounded by blackberry ice pops. Wishful thinking...

A Tie Between Goddess and Drow...

Of course, you all know my preference...

In any case, both seem quite appropriate anyway.

You scored as Drow, You are a Drow, a very ancient breed of elf. They major in magicks. They very dark and mysterious and never trust anyone. Very shady, lonesome people. Lighten up and go to a party. You might meet someone special there... ^.~

FATHER's DAY, Sun & Rain & Shadows

... Blah!

What a sucky weekend… The more you want to do the less you can do due to circunstance… The positive thing about it all was that at least the mage and I got to spend the whole weekend together. The negative things were mainly that we couldn’t do all that was required because of either the weather or ill intended people…

Friday night I simply went home. Placed pictures in a CD so I can send them someday to be revealed. I had rented some movies, but by the time the mage arrived I was completely out of service catching Z’s… I actually woke up by almost 4am, and so we saw one of the movies at that time… ABANDONED: what a crappy movie… Maybe a good idea, a completely lame execution. The idea of the doppelgangers was cool, though… So, at 5:30am we went back to sleep… The friggin birdies were talking too much, so it took me a while but finally zoned out.

Saturday… Midday. We both were kinda in blah mode, so we just watched the DIARY OF ELLEN RIMBAUER: Prequel to RoseRed… I really like RoseRed and the Diary was a nice little compendium of all the reasons why RoseRed exists… Wanted to watch RoseRed afterwards, but the CD of my dear movie would not cooperate… So, by almost 5pm we got out of the house, delivered the movies, got a bucket of Siliconizer and paint and made it in time for church. Father Edwin was really happy to see us, reminded the Mage of the confirmations (which were changed to, guess the date… August 24… Eeeeck!). After mass we went to eat some Chinese mofongo, and then headed home. We watched THE LIBERTINE, which turned out to be a hilarious treat. Gotta LOVE Johny Depp! Since we foresaw getting early to put the Siliconizer on the ceiling, we kinda went straight to bed.

Sunday… Oh we got early… by 8am… Not feeling up to much. I thougt I would just say goodbye to the mage, as it was after all Father’s Day and I expected him to go pick up his little girl and have a day of fun with her… I would simply go to Auntie’s and do the laundry, and come back to sleep… I was feeling beyond drained already, the day was too sunny…

As I went upstairs to get breakfast I saw the mage hanging up his cell, evidently bothered/pissed/you name it. His ex called saying she was not at home or in the area and that the child was with her, so he should not have to pick her up. WTF? The woman excels at being a bitch for the sake of it… She does what she wants when she wants, taking the mage in NO consideration at all in her decisions… not even letting him know out of politeness.

After a small while of me preaching with some anger, he called his ex’s parent’s house, and turns out she has been in a resort since Friday night… Lovely. Too much work on her side to let the mage know what she was up to… I hope he gets the point that either he do something to at least have legal rights, or to accept fate as it comes and not cry over it so much because wanting to be involved is not being involved for real.

Both the mage and I come from divorced parents, we both had difficult experiences based on that… But one thing is certain: a real parent is not an idea, but the one who is there all the time, studying with you, punishing you, wiping your tears, playing with you, pushing you to be all you can be… One day a week doesn’t make a real difference, no matter how you put it. Especially when it is certain that there is really no interest on the other family to actually include you in the child’s life… Either you include yourself by gutsy wits, or you stay away on purpose… Whining and doing nothing doesn’t really solve anything. And in the end, all becomes a big emotional snowball that crashes and melts… and all that stays is regret. True story…

So… the mage wanted to go out, so we went on the road. He drove until we reached Ponce… Not much to see, everything was closed because it was Father’s Day… So, we came back. In the way we decided to try a new route to get home, through 119. And from sunny, dry landscapes we got into rainy rainforest ambience… The wonders of the island… After a longaleer drive, he reached home. Heavy rain followed, then the sun came up as if nothing had happened… Nature, and its lessons… I stayed in the couch with the fan blasting some air, and so we started watching Xena:Season3. In the middle of it all, prepared some dinner, while the mage fought with the flying invaders that began trying to get into the house at nightfall… After 7 episodes, decided it was time to sleep… And so the weekend came to a closure…

Monday morning. The cell rings its alarm. A new day, heralding the new week… heralding work… I feel drained and exhausted, just want to stay in bed for the whole day… But it was only 6:15 and the heat was already rising. I need to put that A/C on the friggin wall… seems that a good night’s rest is stolen by the climate… feels as if I had not slept at all! Nauseous and dizzy, tired and overheated… and I made it to my office. I need to go to Aguadilla, but there’s no transportation available until Wednesday.

I can’t drive like this… so I guess I’m stuck here… in my lovely fridge… Blah… Gotta pay one of the past due finance bank… And gotta find out when the car’s back can finally be fixed.. that needs to be taken care of without further delay. Both things will leave me broke, another usual state that doesn’t help in anything… but well… what else is there to do? Everything is behind… and between that fact and the bad moments that people clash thanks to their stupidity, the shine of the promise of a better day fades… Reality is a blunt bitch that helps the bad and feasts on the flesh of the good. So, nothing changes…

Feeling: Moody, sad, breathless, irritated, angry, bothered, troubled, worried, anxious, concerned, pissed… Wish I could lock myself up in a dark room with A/C, and stay there for a whole week… no people, no facts, no daylight, total alienation… Just food, the mage and me…

Padre invidente hizo su sueño realidad

And to celebrate Father’s Day, here’s a little link that should add some spark to the date, as well as make you think of what is REALLY important in life… A nice little video about a blind PuertoRican father and how he accomplished his dreams… Enjoy!

A Joke about PR...

(Yes, pun is intended)

Al personaje no le gustó nada y se fue a ver en que consistían los otros infiernos. Tanto el infierno estadounidense como el ruso y el resto de infiernos de distintas naciones hacían lo mismo;

True story.

Long days...

Longer nights...

Yesterday kept on being a long day. Picked up Groundel to take him to ARV so he could ask about his case. Raven passed by and took him to Anthill so he could make some inquiries at the Housing Dept. over there… Not much luck about that… Long waiting list, and he was advised to look for housing at Hometown since the odds are better… At least he got the paperwork that he needs to fill out. I passed by at midday to bring him back to ARV so he could talk to the counselor… I don’t really feel there’s much help there either but… whatever… Someone contacted from the disability form he filled over the net, and it was in the last conversation that they mentioned they did not belong to the gov disability program and that royalties if he gets disability help is 25% of what he gets… So we are hoping he gets nothing that way. Sheesh… it’s not like he would get that much anyway, and on top of that 25% off would not be so good either.

At night, went with LS and Groundel to wee Pirates of the Caribbean 3, again. Since I liked the movie, and Johny Depp, that was not much of a sacrifice. In all the fuzz I forgot to give LS something, so REMIND ME NEXT TIME!

My brain is not working too properly… I’m very worried about Groundel’s situation (someone has to worry), the heat in this friggin island is simply too much leaving me completely drained and exhausted by nightfall, and I’ve reached the beginning of the third trimester so now I’m worried of all the what ifs that may come plus adding the increase in stupidity from people. I’m concerned about all the things that must be done and still are in a halt, but not much that I can do about that… I can’t hurry as much right now, simply have no energy at all to fight destiny, and just want to be left alone. Being responsible for 70% of stuff is not fun, and it doesn’t help in the relaxing corner… Having to come to an office that makes me beyond anxious everyday is not fun either. Driving around feeling nauseous and sick all the time is not fun at all. The killer is always people and their comments, advise, pep-talk, you name it… For a no-nonsense realistic person like me, having all these pink butterflies fluttering around pestering me is worst than migraine. Sometimes a deep cavern in the Underdark is the best wishful thinking one can get…

The BabyShower Crew seems to be moving their butts. It was a good idea creating that… I would have not been able to actually focus on doing a shower, too many things going on around me. From the bits that I’ve heard, it all is going beyond what I expected… so as long as there is a diabetic cake and no sugar ice cream, whatever comes up is simply perfect. I hope Coriolis can contact the people on the Mage’s side, and that they actually show up. The Mage thinks so highly of them, and holds them in high regard in his heart, and I hate to see they are not around just because they don’t like me much. The past cannot be changed, but so many years should lead to some kind of maturity at least in thought and logic, if not in feelings. I hope that they put friendship first and that they show the Mage how much they value him and how happy they are for him.

So, that’s the main headlines in Neverland… for the day at least… We’ll have two weekends of commotion, one with Father’s Day and the other with the night of SanJuan. The isle where the fun never stops… Right…

Many things, many things

...

Friday: False WIC alert, made a booboo since the date was for August. In the afternoon our dear LightShadow graduated from RUM for the second time, being Magna Cun Laude… (High Honor, you infidels!) So, many congratulations and celebrations and happy thoughts and wishes for all the success that she deserves!

Saturday: Nutritionist appointment in the morning… She’s very pleased with all the controls in food and gave me green light so I don’t see her again until after the birthing, if nothing gets out of control.

Sunday: Stayed at home movie watching while trying to combat the Grapefruit blues… CURSE THE GRAPEFRUIT!

Monday: Official appointment at the gyn, Deirdre is very much fine and so the doc is also happy with me. Whee or something… Unofficial appointment at the other doc who told me she wanted to see me… Oh, big mistake… thanks to that got an upset angry child and nausea and overall irritating blahness…

Tuesday: Third appointment at the Labor courses thinguie… Today it was all about nutrition. Also took Groundel to the cupones place so he can start his needful schemes. Back in the office… lovely cold place… La-la-la…

Info, info...

la-la-la...

Trying to get stuff done, little amount of time, too much heat and nausea to go any faster… Groundel should be out of the hospital today (Yay!). Went to catch some Pirates on Friday… A very fulfilling experience. :D Deirdre becoming the next Chung-Li… And that’s about it. Hopefully things will run smoothly in the office today, don’t feel like moving too much. Tomorrow the birthing courses start on mornings, so I’ll be off my office on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the morning, just for this month. The mage has a class on July (next month, next month) and may embark on some do-it-yourself projects this week, if the sun behaves.

Nothing further in Neverland…

COUNTDOWN TO A KILL

(pfffttt!)

Yup. Right. It's all about people, their stupid words, their stupid thoughts, their stupid ways of affecting your simple chaotic life... It is better to have a barrier and witness everything from the looking glass... Fed up with the displays of hipocrites and clowns... Kill them all!

At work, being trying to work... Receiving all this crappy input about babies... Tolerating so no blood is on my hands... Being completely unhappy from 8:00am to 4:30pm... Wanting to be left alone, to be able to eat just what I want when I want, to be able to roam castles in England or walk the long walk of the Great China Wall... But no... Instead I am trapped in this maze that leads nowhere, surrounded by cheese-brains that don't see beyond their nose and don't hear beyond their ears...

At home... Same old, same old. It's a lonely place up there in the top of the mountain... And its depressing seeing things in stasis, as time stopped it all...

Feeling anxious, lonely, and sad. Not much to do but visit Groundel when I get out of work, and then go home to achieve total isolation. At least the few hours that I can spend with the mage make me smile after midnight and at breakfast...

Trying to do lemon pie with all these lemons... Want some?

Long weekend

and time flying...

Got up at mid-morning on Saturday. We set to travel to Arecibo as we had planned. Got a call from the Texas crew giving thanks for the b-day card I sent… wow, it arrived in 2 days without using priority… I was impressed! LOL They seemed happy and alive.

In the way, the mage asked for water and reaching Quebradillas there was a group from a church giving water for free… People disbelieved the signs of free water, but well… After seeing that the freshmakers did open the door and did got water bottles for free everyone started opening their windows up. That was fun. The bottles stated “God quenches your soul’s thirst” and had the church’s service times. I think that was a very original and useful campaign… It would be nice if people were that creative when doing anything… Positive creativity. So, we reached Arecibo at midday, the sun was too overpowering and we ended up at Plaza del Norte. My main targets were not accomplished… but at least found some pieces that should help with the clothing woes as well as we got the miraculous electronic bug-spider buster. When coming back heavy rain greeted us around Quedradillas, but by reaching Añasco it was gone… so we could finally get a decent meal at my favorite BBQ place. We finally reached home after 9pm, being quite beat. We put the pest controller and half an hour later three spiders showed up dazed and confused… Haven’t seen anyone else since then… Not that I’m complaining.

Sunday morning I woke up before noon. After breakfast, went on to try putting up some pictures in the barren walls downstairs… The new walls are bland, but the original walls need drilled holes to actually hold anything… so, took a bath and parted with the mage. He went to his normal Sunday’s fatherly duties, and I went to the hospital to give Groundel a quick visit and leave him with some horror movies. The hospital room is now in the 3rd floor, room 319. If you want to call, 834-0101x3219. Afterwards, went to auntie’s place, did some laundry and took all my plush dolls to the small bedroom placing them on the shelves. Wanted to move other toy boxes but they were heavy and looked filled with spiders so I left that for later. Went home, let the kitties free for a while and cooked something for the whole week. The mage arrived before 8:00pm, brought some movies and so we watched one, a Korean horror movie, Cinderella… basically a stepmother thinguie mixed up with plastic surgery. Entertaining enough.

Monday was Memorial Day… so no work. The mage went to get a friend of his that do construction work and so, so the guy could see the immediate necessities and tell us how much would it cost. I think it was fair enough… But we need to get all materials, and since we have nothing right now (still the car to pay…) that will have to wait another month. Yupi… Went to auntie’s to sort the spider boxes and take the novels and albums with me, and then to visit Groundel in the hospital… Left him with Cinderella and Dora the Explorer: The musical. LMAO! By 3pm, went to Lulú’s place in Sabana Grande to check up her computer… That endeavor took until 9pm. We went home, the mage took everything from the car, and we finally went to bed at midnight…

Today, wanted to stay in bed but I know I better get up and go to work… Better leave days for when I need them. Next week the birthing courses begin, and they are 6 classes… two weekly, and all during weekday mornings… So that means 3 days off, sort of… So I cannot push it. We are supposed to have the last week of July free… that is a small relief… No word of Coriolis or Raven. Everything has been very quiet…

Feeling a bit crappy, a bit sad, a lot stressed…but then, what is new?

Groundel @ hospital (how strange) and then some

(not treats but what the heck...)

Ah, the mission… Groundel is in the hospital… Again. He was complaining about leg pain on Wednesday, and then last night. He told me to forget about it, and then called me at 10pm saying he had a fever. Oh, by now I really know what that means… Since I was quite beat and drained and kinda pondered if I could drive or not I got really anxious and nervous and so started vomiting… The mage arrived early, found me quite distressed and was to make his good deed of the week… But I called up and one of Groundel’s friends was around. I gave him the very sound and clear instructions to take Groundel to the hospital, not the clinic, so they could take care of him in case of complications… and to call me from ER when they had news. Two hours later, ChickenBig called teling me that they had taken Groundel’s pressure and that he was without fever by then, and that they were waiting for the doctor to give the go so they could take him home. I laughed at that, and the boy became silent. I asked if they had put the suerito on Groundel’s arm, and he said no. So I gave him the free prediction: Groundel shall stay all night long and you guys can go home… they won’t let him go because he has an infection and will give intra-vein medicines. And so, that’s what happened. I got no further calls, but had a light and not so restful sleep.

The mage had to go to get some government papers, so he got up quite early. I took the same train so I could go to the hospital before going to work. Yup, Groundel was at ER, gave him a peanut butter sandwich and a Snapple courtesy of the mage, and then went to work… He expected to be out by midday. I kinda laughed at that, for I knew that a nice resort would be around the corner… I got a call from Groundel before lunchtime. He needed someone to go there and fill up the admissions papers. His doctor had passed by and has seen everything was ok, but wanted to keep medicating the leg to be sure that the infection would be completely gone. So now he has to stay for a few days at the Perea Resort… three meals a day, A/C, cable and phone included in the package. I’ll make certain he gets a bottle of sunless tanning lotion… so he can later on brag about having gone on vacation or something… LOL Oh, well… At least he will be able to sleep now… He was not sleeping more than 4 hours a day because eof the heat and the overall ambience at his so-called home. Perhaps the small vacation is just what he needed to lighten up a bit… The only thing now is that I cannot be hibernating at the hospital to keep him company because of my pregnancy… I have to stay away from sick people and germs. So that will be something… Hopefully his clan of friends will visit enough to make him feel not so left out.

This is a long weekend, and all in all we’ll try to take some time to smell the roses… The Mage and I have been fuzzing too much with the house and everything else that comes with it, and so we may at least take one day off.

Oh, and there may be some hope for the spider invasion at home… Although I am very skeptic about it, a coworker that lives near my house expressed how he keeps the critters at bay, with an electronic pest repellant. He warned me that the first two weeks I will see them everywhere, as they will be forced outside their shelter, but that after that they will be gone. So… If that really works, it is a priceless advise. My next mission…LOL About the comejen invation, he tells me that from april to early june it is normal for them to buzz around annoying everyone. That later on they vanish… And the aftermath is that you get a house with everything wooden filled with it… so I better beware and fumigate everything to make sure that is taken care of…

Work has been very slow. I just need the cold comfort of the office… Outside, the environment is raging and it is simply too much! The world keeps on spinning, and a promise of a new day lives on… The Almighty insists on having fun, and who are we to deny him of it?

A BIG MAC, Buggy Attack and PIRATES!

Yesterday, doctor’s appointment. Early in the morning went with the mage to get him some clothing, then to the doctor’s office. Finally, the little one showed herself. It’s a GIRL! As someone stated, an Amazon on the prowl… Prepare for Deirdre Valeria. Cool, huh?

At night, got attacked by termites… then a spider wouldn’t let me in the bathroom… I had to resign myself to being locked up safely in my bedroom until the mage arrived. Today, found a snail perched up in the bathroom wall… How the heck it got there? Damn! That house has too many creaks and crevices… and to find them all and seal them all I’ll need the help of the Vodu Queen… So, my buggy woes go on…

Gotta finish some work at Aguadilla today, hopefully will be in my office after midday… Don’t feel like going around too much.

WATCH OUT FOR PIRATES!!!!

BRIEFING

Past weekend… work overload… too tired to tell the detailed tale.

The briefing:

FRIDAY: Got out of work at 5:30 pm on Friday due to a meeting, and had a b-day decór meeting at 6:30pm that last until 10:30pm. Straight to bed…

SATURDAY: Woke up at 9:00am to finish placing the antennas on the butterflies. By 11:00am made it with the mage to the b-day place, and so we finished up the balloons placing and other details. By 2:00pm we were out of there… So, I wanted to get some curtains and so we went to CaboRojo’s heart stores. Found a fountain, found a red and orange retro rod, found some rods… but no curtains. So we went to Western Plaza, still no luck. Being on the road again, we ended up in Aguadillla. Pitusa had a bird nest that I got for auntie’s parakeet (so the egg stress fades away). They also have a kitty condo that is completely awesome, bigger than the one I have… but can’t get it… so just admired it and walked away… At Aguadilla Mall found the perfect terracotta shade that I wanted for the curtains, and some pillows for the dining room. I liked many baby things in Capri over there… They have everything for a HelloKitty baby nursery. We arrived home almost at 9:00pm, and by then we started moving furniture to its rightful place (mostly the mage moved stuff, I just placed the cardboard pieces and help drag some…). Yes, I’m a slave driver. The living room/dining room seems to be coming alive, after more than 3 months of waiting… It was 1:00am, and we finally went to sleep…

SUNDAY: Midday… Met the mage and his Munchkin at the mall. Dissapointed at the stuff I wanted to get and that I couldn’t because it wasn’t there (must go back to Aguadilla)… Went to auntie’s, placed a nest for the parakeets and did the laundry. Went home around 5:00pm. Let the kitties roam for a while, then began the curtain rod placing… The mage arrived, and so we stayed up until midnight cleaning the furniture with almond Old English and placing some decorations around… The living room and the dining room are almost 80% done, and so far look gorgeous! It may turn into a nice haven after all…

MONDAY: Work… Draining me as usual… Taken to SanGermán during the morning, to move a PC… Had a small showdown with the locals who think they are boss… Enough to make me beyond tin roof! Then, taken to Aguadilla during the afternoon to move 2 computers… configure them and try making people happy. Arrived at 5:00pm, so I could get some bandages for Groundel, so I could finally reach home before 7:00pm. Took a bath and went to sleep around 8:00pm. Woke up at midnight, had a snack, small chit-chat and back to sleep… Drained, drained, drained…

TUESDAY: At work… have managed to stay within my office the whole morning, don’t know if I will be able to keep it up in the afternoon… Anyway… Very drained… Just want a bed, A/C and to keep on sleeping. Gotta pay some stuff, and see if I can sleep more tonight… Last week was too much work for not much pay. Just as it always happens… That’s the main reason I do nothing for profit, because in the end I don’t get paid what I should. People don’t value creative works… they just view it as cheap nonsense… that looks grand. Anyway… The overload of working much after hours really drained me. The extra work on weekends is mandatory to patch things up with the mage’s help… I cannot do things around the house alone… I need muscle power. So it has to be Sat & Sun… I hope he doesn’t mind too much. It should be over when all is done, finally. Maybe by end of June?

Tired, restless… Tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment, hopefully the sex of the child can finally be addressed! If not, well… PIRATE anyway! And the UTIER will begin a strike tonight at midnight, so that means no light for 24 hours… So much for not affecting the public. And Rosello keeps up with his circus and neverending story… Ugh!

The show goes on…

Some Bull Birthdays!

LOL (no pun intended!)

Many good wishes and good karma sent to the birthday boys: DaddyFromTexas (whose b-day was yesterday) and MrPopuman (whose b-day is today). Taurus boys, very stubborn, very focused on making profit so they are grounded with no problem, very matter of fact... Blunt to some, brutally honest to most... Gotta love these bulls! Hope you both get many gifts, especially spiritual bliss and happiness. You deserve it! Damnit!

Been painting bugs, sleeping little... Today will decorate the main place at night. Tomorrow will put the last details... And hopefully I can get the payment I need to get the nursery combo that I want. It's been labor, for labor sake! La-la-la...

Hopefully will put together the left side of the 1st floor during this weekend. I'm pissed that the stairs/celining guy stood me up on Tuesday and Wednesday... Will call today with the last chance. If that won't do, then gotta find someone else... I need to put the AC... The heat is unbearable thanks to the so-called Polvos del Sahara... Nature my ass! I just think is a complot to destroy all intelligent life in PR simply by dehydration... Sheesh!

Mother Earth is getting bitchy and ruthless... Can't blame her. It's paytime! And she will have absolutely no regrets... Life will go on one way or the other. We are not indispensable.

Lookout for next week! The Pirates are near! Arck! Arck! FINALLY! Something Deep to look forward to... Ok, Depp, Depp... Lighten up, LOL

3,2,1... Engage!

And yes, another very busy weekend...

FRIDAY: They let mothers go at 3pm, so I went to rent two movies: The Painted Veil and The Persuit of Happiness. Arrived home early since the mage was waiting for me, ate some and so the movie night was arranged. And then to catch some Z’s…

SATURDAY: Slept until 10am. The mage had started painting the walls corners and had prepped some breakfast. I got ready, so by midday we went out of the house set on the mission of getting a fan for the family to see if we can actually survive the summer. Got a good deal for two shirts and got some dye for my hair. The mage passed by his friend’s house to see if he could gather some help but his friend was out of service. So, we headed home. Upon arrival, he set on the mission of placing the fan in the wall, then finishing up the painting edges downstairs. In the meanwhile I messed up with my hair bleaching the tips. Began repairing the ladybugs that got all stick together thanks to the damn heat. So, repaired the ladybugs red base until midnight. By then I had a nice back pain, and felt completely drained… so I surrender to the Sandman.

SUNDAY: MOTHER’s DAY. Woke up by midmorning and after a hearty breakfast engaged on the bug painting endeavour… Groundel called to congratulate me. He’s the only one that always call… everyone else is too busy. Life goes on. Finished the ladybugs and the bees and the fireflies’s bodies. Began the wings but became quite burned up after the third set, so left it all at 5pm. I realized I had no lunch … bad move… So, by then, went with the mage to visit auntie and enjoyed her infamous Virginia Ham. Washed some wrestling, and kinda did my hair. Stopped at the in-law’s house so the mage would pick up and deliver something, and then went home. Tried to re-arrange the closet to have the usable clothing in one side and the out-of-limits on the other side. By 10pm took a bath, had a snack and the mage put on a movie. So, we watched Million Dollar Baby until it finished almost at 1am… And then to sleep some…

So, at work again… the never-ending race that each time goes faster and faster… No word from anyone, and feeling quite tired. The child b-day thing is this next weekend, so got to finish the fireflies, make the butterflies and prepare at least some flowers to complement the cartoonish bugs. All this must be done between today and Wednesday… Ugh! Let’s see what can be accomplished… I do hope I get at least a hundred… that would complete the cash to get the cradle combo. Auntie told me mommy has a cradle that used to belong to psycho-uncle’s child… but I don’t know. I’ll have to see it. The car guy has not called, and the ceiling guy has not call either… Gotta see what can be done in the meanwhile…

Feeling very tired, on the edge of another exhaustion… Wanting to simply be in bed, but that is the perennial wish that must be denied… Ugh! Got to check the pre-natal free courses I was told about so we can sign up in time. Got to start packing up on diapers… that seems to be a big headache in itself. Got to keep a solid grasp on the diet this week, I was too loose with the Saturday lasagna and Sunday Ham, and the sugar went up… What the heck… It’s my first Mother’s Day, damnit. There must be some sort of celebration, or something… Keeping the sugar where it belongs is quite a pain in the whoohoo. I’m getting tired of all the healthy stuff that ain’t my favorites but that are mandatory evils… Once in a while, I want nothing but a Whopper… And that is exactly the one thing I can’t get at least until I give birth… And I say at least, because the diabetic diet is forever. Yay, now let’s do the Bartdance…

The mage has been bearing with my mood swings quite gracefully. He do everything he can, and then more. It is always comforting knowing that one way or the other he is there to watch over me… so my guardian angel can take some breaks to put off the fire in its wings! I’m glad that little by little things are falling into place in most matters… Finances will always be our pithole, so we just have to keep going using the security cords that trapeze actors use… because the show must go on.

Shake, shake, shake...

and then burst!

I’ve been sick for the last two days, complete exhaustion in the main menu. The heat has been too strong and I guess that helps in draining me of the little strength I may have left… Have not been able to do all the things I had planned for these days.

Yesterday Groundel and LightShadow passed by during the late afternoon. We painted some of the bugs, sort of… Between the heat and feeling blah I was not too up to anything. At least the little gathering is always a nice thing, as I laugh for a while.

The mage arrived early thanks to some work trouble. He should be back on track on Monday, and will try taking advantage of the days off to finish painting the living room’s walls and ceiling. Hopefully by Sunday the living room will actually look like one, after all this time. Whatever. It all has been a snowball that keeps growing as it falls upon us, and it all has me completely zoned out, drained, and sad. Seems the gnomes took away the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…

At work today. Let’s see if I can stand the insanity… My only consolation is that at least my office has North Pole access, it’s A/C is always high… Although lately I feel as if it were just a breeze. I have turned into a high temperature oven… Ugh!

Latest update...

What a weekend!

THURSDAY. Picked up Groundel and went to Western plaza to check out jeans… mine are too tight to be used any longer. Got frustrated at one store, then things looked up at the megastore, where at least I got a pair to wipe away part of the woes. LightShadow met us there, so we all browsed the whole store while gossiping, whining and having fun. Baby stuff is quite pricey and that is beyond frustrating as well. Baby got its first gifts from LightShadow as well, who had bought a monitor, a grooming kit and a health kit for the baby. It was really funny that a week ago when she mentioned the items I thought she was gonna get something for kitties… and I wondered why. LOL Cat people and their obsessive behaviors… Many thanks to LS, she really surprised me with that one. The baby-mode is still kicking in into me, so bear with me… I’m not maternal and I dislike prissy stuff… But the time has come to make arrangements and make way for whatever it is… Also, LightShadow is finally graduating from the computer science thinguie. Much success sent her way! It’s her second degree at RUM, so it’s her second labor. :P Hope she gets the job she deserves, and that she gets to keep on studying. That’s what us bookworms like to do anyway… and in the end is very worth it.

FRIDAY. Went to auntie’s as I got out, but there was no food at all, so I went home so at least I could have some ramen with veggies. Entertained myself checking up the mage’s computer and erasing unused programs while adding useful ones. Found some pics on CDs and added them to the folders as well. Finally in bed after midnight.

SATURDAY. Went with the mage to browse for cradles. Loved the cat statues that we bumped into… Sadly could not buy any of them. Anyway, the best bet is a trio that they sell as combo, featuring cradle, changer and dresser. They only have it in oak and mahogany colors, so I asked Coriolis to check the megastore over there in the Metro area to see if they have it in white. If not, I guess oak will do… I like mahogany but spiders could disguise themselves too easily in it. After the mall, we went to get some Chinese mofongo, and to get some minor household items at the hardware store. Went to watch Spiderman 3. The movie was ok… A bit linear, the actors are definitively aging and not looking as good as they used to… MJ didn’t get to look as lovely as she use to, and the blonde one was not pretty at all… I still don’t get the new Hollywood standards, honest! The Spidey/Venom conflict was ok, not bad but could have been a bit better. Sandman was completely idiotic, and his storyline changed from the evil entity in the comics to the moral thief in the movie… And Harry… well… they had to go full circle ith the avenging the father and being best friends thinguie. I just don’t get why kill off main villains just for the sake of it (like Dr.Octopus… but I guess that has to do with actors wanting to act just once… and the director keeping the characters with a single face). Sam Raimi rules. He managed to keep the comic book feel integrity. And to feed his family… as Ted and his daughter make hilarious cameos as well as his dear friend Bruce Campbell).

SUNDAY. Got the bugs at Groundel’s home and then went to auntie’s to do some laundry and make the murals for the birthday thinguie next week. That kinda took all my energy… Arrived almost at 10pm to the house… Not feeling too sleepy, and the Arachnophobia showdown didn’t help either… Three in one night, how nice… So, watched some Pullo before bedtime (Rome) and then to bed… almost at 2am… Waking up was hard to do…

Monday. Been Matching computers with their users plus checking the antivirus status on them… The morning went quite fast, I almost forgot to take my break, and hd the shivers by 11am… had some grits and a mandarin orange that stabilized things… Co-worker gave me some info and a book to read about breast feeding, plus shared some of the woes and joys of the whole process. She lacked help and information at first, and it all was uphill. Can you believe her husband actually bathed the baby for the first time when she was 10 months old? So many stories I’ve heard by now, and men behave as chauvinist ass-wipes in most of them. I guess it goes to show me I should be very grateful that although the mage ain’t a handyman, he does try his best to share everything from daily life showing interest in every detail and expressing plenty of care and concern. I am lucky I have someone at my side that will help me all along, because he wants to. Anyway… Gotta pick up Groundel after work so we paint the bugs, and hopefully do enough by 9:00pm. I need to sleep, badly!

So… Days running faster than a speeding bullet… Much to do, much more showing up… and almost no time to comply with everything. Gotta love being an adult… Right…

So far...

so... so...

Yesterday had Gyn appointment, so far 54% it’s a girl. Everything is allright, and sent me to do further tests as usual. Passed by WIC and by the place where I saw the wicker cradle I liked and may get it before the weekend. Straightened out some payments, and picked up the ogre so he could help me with the decór for my co-worker’s bday thinguie… Mummy called giving away the broken PC she had, so passed by to get the corpse (so I try patching it up later on when I’m really bored). Finally arrived at Anthill… to make some mandatory food, begin brainstorming and doing the small insects cutting and finally giving it all up for sleep. The mage arrived a bit later than usual, didn’t dispel the orc and went on to battle Morpheus and the friggin heat… I couldn’t sleep much, it was too hot and the fan was not helping. Summer is barely beginning and things are getting impossible… I know I need to get the friggin A/C as soon as possible… another project…

Called up the hojalatero and the ceiling/rail guy so they can show up next week. Will try to find out about a plumber for this weekend if possible. The mage painted the ceiling of half-downstairs in a celestial yellow (very pale yellow) and today he painted the floor in an Aztec terracotta. That and the bamboo ochre yellow walls should create a nice cozy atmosphere for the living room/dining room. I’ll try getting the paint I need for the other side, so the whole thing can be completed by the end of this month. I’m thinking that the three wooden doors that are laying around will be a nice backing for the metal desk, and will turn up to be a nice divider featuring a mural that shall greet the foyer. I’ll place the loveseat downstairs, opposite this work… I just need the broken pipe fixed, upstairs working, and the ceiling fixed so it stops cascading woes. After that, things can be arranged…

Anyway… Today, left the ogre at the police place so he could send for the good behavior certification. At midday left him at the mall so he can fill up a job application that LightShadow suggested. And the pasta shells with meat that I made are too yummy… I wish that I could sleep in the office. My temperature has certainly begun to rise… I am not freezing in my office, and I’m melting at home. Sheeeesh… Gotta find out if mummy took auntie to pay her bills and buy her groceries, if not then that’s another thing to do on Sunday.

So far, so good… this week is going fast and has been a bit mellow… damn hot, but easygoing in some ways… Let’s not jinx it…

From the shadows

... and then some...

This is the Information Technology Professional Week, so congratulations to all techies and systems administrators out there!

The weekend went too fast for comfort… leaving me completely out of energy and a bit sad. So much to do… But only 24 hours to try accomplishing anything…

Friday night went with Groundel to see Pathfinder. It was not that good, a nice rental choice for any gaming fan… Vikings were so-so… The native Americans were portrayed so-so… A cheap Apocalypto with a twist that is very lineal, predictable and more of the same, in my opinion…

Saturday… Got the goodies at the mailbox and delivered them to its owner. Went with the mage to get a bucket of paint, then to hunt for clothing and shoes… Got the shoes at San Germán after a whole afternoon of continual disappointments… The curse of 11w in the wrong side of the planet… Made it to church in time, missed Father ed as there was another person giving mass (seems someone in practice). Too tired after the long hunt, we went home.

Sunday… Got a call from Lightshadow but yesterday was a bad day for my cel… locations made signal completely unavailable… Geesh! If I’m not in my bedroom I have no signal at all in Anthill… how nice… Went with the mage to pickup Munchkin and to take her to the favorite toy store to find a jigsaw for her. Browsed the books section and found some I would like to get later on for our little mage. Browsed the cradles section, and I was quite disappointed at the selection… Went to the nearby furniture store to see they have no cradles at all. Gee… Whatever. I just want to get the cradle that I saw in San Germán, that has an old times feel and is space savvy. I’ll need a changer and an armoire, but well… Let’s see who can get that for us. We are too tight to actually think of much right now… Just small cradle and car seat as basics. Anyway… Arrived just in time to do the grocery shopping, and then home to rest a bit. Played Snow White while Munchkin tried putting together the jigsaw, and as nightfall arrived, went with the mage to deliver the girl and to get my clothing at auntie’s. Uncle arrived to deliver something, and his usual salute made my night… On the way home my being pissed took a 360 degree change after without realizing the effect I made a comment that send me straight down reminiscing lane… in a bad way. After a while, watched Mirror mask with the mage and off to bed…

Today… I really wanted to stay at home. I feel beyond tire, crappy and sad. I just wanna be in my bed, see no faces, and simply rest. But duty calls, as usual… And since I have a doc’s appointment on Wednesday I just couldn’t allow myself to take the day off. So… forced myself to get up, and drive to work… Eyes bother me, got a headache, and I’m not in a good mood… Happy happy joy joy… Life goes on. Groundel called to check on me since he was worried because I did not answer the phone yesterday… Again, no signal at Anthill… And to remind me to give the transcripts to his counselor at work. I almost forgot about that… Got three congrats because of IT week, all from people not from where my office is… and so far the day has been very VERY slow and uneventful. Just want it to be over so I head home, period.

Today is the last day that I'm using words
They've gone out, lost their meaning
Don't function anymore

Let's, let's, let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious honey

Today is the last day that I'm using words
They've gone out, lost their meaning
Don't function anymore

Traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, to the arms of unconsciousness
Traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, to the arms of unconsciousness

Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious
Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious

Words are useless, especically sentences
They don't stand for anything
How could they explain how I feel

Traveling, traveling, I'm traveling
Traveling, traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, traveling, I'm gonna relax
Traveling, traveling, in the arms of unconsciousness

Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious
Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious

And inside we're all still wet
Longing and yearning
How can I explain how I feel ?

Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious
Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious

Traveling, traveling
Traveling, traveling
Traveling, traveling
Traveling, traveling, in the arms of unconsciousness

And all that you've ever learned
Try to forget
I'll never explain again

Come out, come out...

wherever you are...

Work was pretty much stale yesterday. I edited some items for the Little Mage place, and gave it a small facelift… at least looks more like it is almost completed. Wanna get the feel as this site, that I don’t really need to change it because I really like the layout and overall image.

Groundel and LightShadow visited Anthill last night. They brought Mirror Mask and popcorn, and I completed the offering with milk… it does a body good. LOL How healthy-er can you get? The kitties got really happy with the attention, Roxy and Crow being the main stars of the evening. By 9pm we were all offline, but it was a nice gathering. It gets pretty lonely up there in Anthill… and it ain’t funny.

Today, gotta prepare the secretaries gifts and the resources gifts for tomorrow’s afternoon activities. Zordak went to the tax place really early (by his standards) to straighten up a paper he needs when applying for gov jobs. I’m trying to give a small boost to my mp3 player so it has some cool cd’s I can’t listen to under normal circumstances… no computer at home, and they play badly anywhere else. So today promises to be an entertaining day. Gotta try doing demos at night, for the 1st-bday decór, so Groundel can help with completing that project.

Feeling crappy and trafa, but it could be worst… following what people have been telling me… Been reading too much about pregnancy and all its effects and it all makes me even more nauseous. Coriolis will have to do a fund raising at work so I can get some help getting a bit of the mandatory things I’m starting to need… LOL Why him specifically? Hey, he looks serious enough for people to actually believe he’s saying someone needs help. Imagine that, my lovely face in a can… with a Please Help on it… What is the world coming to?

Finally getting the Butterfly Effect, so Vincent or Deirdre seems to be having fun. Besides that… Tired, dizzy, drained, having mixed feelings for everything, keeping it all realistic… I’m no Rainbow Brite, but no Undertaker either.

Gotta fill up my daily hours duties… And see if I get paid before the weekend so I get to the car place and finally fix that friggin door! Between that and paying off a late loan I’m screwed until next 15th… but life goes on… with milk, eggs and Cheerios.

Tying some knots

heh, heh...

I just realized, I made no mention of the past weekend. Well...

Saturday morning was the oh-so-wow nate with the nutricionist, who wants to see me again at the 3rd trimester's beginning to make sure I have not put on any unnecessary pounds and made dietary changes as needed... We passed by Cabo Rojo's town stores to try getting a deal for work's secretaries week. Found just the perfect item at the aimed 99cents I planned to spend for each... The store has some thinguies I want to get later on, to fill my house with some Feng Shui karma... The mage got me two paintings that depicted asian dragons, way cool. Now I just need to get a phoenix... Anyway...

Went with the mage to my mother's house for the fridge-washer issue... We had to wait until almost 6pm when the movers where finally able to get the stuff to my house... So in that we lost the whole afternoon, 5 precious hours... The mage went with them and I was left stranded with mommy. Good thing, she got food. Bad thing, we had to pick the new stepfather, then eat, and after listening to many stories realized it was late and really needed to go home so she took me there. I did not complain so she would finally see why I have been whinning so much all this time about the house and all ots chaos. I guess that should do something... plus the news of baby on the way. Later on, the mage and I had a Rome marathon of sorts, watching some chapters of the juicy series.

Sunday morning was heavy... I felt like not getting out of bed, I just wanted to stayed glued on it... but we had to wake up. The mage had to pick up Munchkin and then do laundry. I had to go to auntie's and do my 3-week laundry as well. So, off we went... At auntie's I did the laundry and tried looking for clothing I could use... but everything that was bigger I had given away or sold... so that was a fruitless task. At least on the bright side, auntie wants to prepare the small room for me just in case I need some energency crashing because of baby. All of the sudden everyone is nice because of that... Something good had to come from it all. Finished laundry as night came in, and so after watching How to loose a guy in 10 days for the Nth time I went home. The mage arrived half an hour later, we exchanged anecdotes and then off to bed... Another weekend has passed away... In the blink of an eye...

No, we couldn't paint. No money to get the yellow paint for the ceiling... no point doing the floor before doing the ceiling... So we couldn't arrange the furniture because of that. The mess keeps on. And my spider phobia goes on as well. Weird bugs stalking me... And I am declaring war! Gotta make a list of all the things that must be done... to do them once a week...

Running...

on empty...

Tired, busy… a bit more than the usual. Secretaries week… Happy happy joy joy. Yesterday morning was the opening, and somehow I end up giving instructions… Moved some trees for decorative purposes and got really dizzy… Reunion afterwards… The making of the recordatories are w-i-p… Went to SanGermán in the afternoon to give service. Throwing myself in the floor didn’t help, kept on feeling dizzy… Visited Groundel afterwork, chit-chat and then home. Organized the closet while cooking something… Mopped the kitty room, finished the food, took a bath and ate. Felt quite radioactive, tired but not sleepy… Read a friend’s magazine and stood there facing the wind and admiring the night view until the mage arrived. Windy and cold night. I finally decided to get into bed, and instantly I fall unconscious…Seems I have trained myself well, I touch the bed and I fall asleep… that’s mainly why I’ve developed the habit of reading for an hour or so in the couch until my sight gets blurred.

Today I woke up dizzy. Everything hurts. Arrived almost half an hour late (not that anyone minded…) and I am feeling completely drained, zoned-out and tired. Even the keyboard looks comfy… that tired I am… (Sight) I just wanna go home and sleep. Dreaming is cheap, easy and is for all…

Gotta go on finish the recordatories. Feel like doing nothing at all… Whee o algo.

TGIF, again!

Let's spin that wheel!

Busy bee, as usual... Yesterday was the "make an invitation against the clock" for the secretaries week which is next week... Plus I arrived late because of the morning sickness... Plus Groundel had bad luck getting aid at the office that Vivienda referred him to... Plus took him to the PUCPR so he can get the transcripts so he can get CAME help at ARV... Plus back at work, reunion because of secretaries week... Today will go to Aguadilla in the morning, and need to leave the conference room setup for Monday during the afternoon. Let's see how it all unfolds...

I have a nutritionist appointment tomorrow morning, then to get a fridge and washer in the afternoon. If there's time left, gotta try finding mementos for the secretaries at a very cheap price... And of course, to mass... So I guess I'll paint the floor at home on Sunday during the morning, and try doing laundry in the afternoon if there is any water at all...

So much for resting in peace and quiet... Where are cemeteries when you need them?

DON'T... Think too much of...

The weekend…

FRIDAY: Too long, too long… But all in all it was ok. Got an invitation from a co-worker to checkout a place for her baby’s 1st year b-day (she wants me to decorate) and she also took me for lunch at Chili’s. Not bad. The afternoon went fast as I was busy thinking on the feasible ways of decorating without breaking my back. After work, went to eat something with Groundel, got kitty food for the children, delivered him, and off I went home… Browsed some decorating books as I do just to torture myself with what I want to do and what I can’t do as I want…

SATURDAY: Painted the walls downstairs, in a lovely bamboo-ochre shade. But it needs a second coat… which will have to wait until next payday… Grrr… The mage primed the staircase walls and painted the borders facing the ceiling as I cannot get on stairs. We finished in time to go to Mass. The Father was really happy to see us, and his belly looked bigger… someone has been eating good… We went back home, as the whole painting ordeal had left us beat.

SUNDAY: Visited ZOO-RICO. The mage had promised Munchkin to take her to the local zoo, and so we ended up in the sort-of-lame-but-could-be-worst version of Animal Kingdom. All in all it was fun, although walking uphill was the pits for me. Loved the birdcage… hated that it was too small… the bald eagle and other big birds should have space to actually fly. And yes, what I have in my backyard are auras tiñosas… Birds of prey that have the body of an eagle and the head of a vulture… It saddened me to see them caged up… I see them flying free and majestic at home, and their eyes are so different… Met the Comeñame… LOL Well, I won’t ever forget that one. And now I can name it when I also see it in my backyard… Wow, seems I do have a jungle at home… Who knew? (I just hope that I have no more close encounters with snakes!)

MONDAY: Freeday from work, thanks to José de Diego… local poet and activist who was born in my hometown even if people in the media mentioned he was born in Agiadilla (WTF?, God… Know your history, public figures, or stay quiet damnit!). I was moody in the morning, but whatever. Went to the town in the afternoon, picked up Groundel and so got a pack of test strips for blood sugar (which left me broke) and syringes. Finally went to the Mall… Been two months since my last stepping on that area… Got the book I was looking for, and window shopped (suffered0 at the local gothic store… Plenty of baby clothing in there… I guess I’m starting to see the bright side of it… I can scare the locals with the newborn… Buahahahah! Finally, did some mandatory grocery shopping that completed the being broke circle… My mother called and SHE is getting married on Wednesday morning… Ok… And they may do a small gathering at midday… Ok… And she will donate a fridge and a laundry machine to my home on Saturday… Ok… Wheeeee, o algo. Stayed awake at night preparing a meal for 2 days, so the mage was happy when he arrived as I was too awake… Seems the heat and radiation of the microwave bans sleep or something… Ugh! Finally got to bed almost at 1:00 am…

Today… at the office… Rachel greeted me with news about her cardboard-shoe box recollection at home LOL Sylvia showed off trendy look with many red streaks over her short black hair (mamau!, but don’t worry, I already have plans for my raven tresses… Coming soon…). Hoping to nap, being unable to do so… Ugh! Oh, well… Hope the day goes fast, and that soon I’m in my comfy bed… La-la-la.

End of week

... Amen!

Drained. Tired. Crappy. Fridays are made to just go home and crawl in bed... I feel like that... I need sleep. I am beyond tired. I am beyond strained and stressed and anxious. Hibernation... Liberation... Breathe...

Avispas!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!

...

Yesterday LightShadow took Groundel and me to watch Grindhouse. We had dinner at the cinema stairs (that reminded me of the good old college years…) and so we were on time to enjoy the offering… Woah! I did not expect such a long movie, but all in all the time vanished really fast… That always happens when you are having fun. Rodriguez’s Planet Terror was perfect. The zombie virus infestation in a somewhat futuristic world, where a stripper looses a leg and her boyfriend gets her a machinegun leg and pushes her to a destiny of redemption through steel leadership was nicely executed. Good tribute to old zombie flicks, good delivery of roles, good use of all that has been created before, good use of corny gore. Tarantino’s Death Proof was weak in the dialogue and substance, but can’t deny the car chase and action were awesome. The fake trails were hilarious! Machete, Don’t, Thanksgiving… the corny theater feature and rating… the music… Everything was well thought/produced/delivered. Nonsense that makes sense… Who knew?

So, realized the time when we were out of the cinema,,, Ouch. For me, I was past before bedtime, no wonder I was feeling sleepy… Yes, on weeknights I’m a good girl and go to bed with Burbujita’s signal. The way home is long and dark and at night gets lonely… There are many houses along the way, but seems all people go to sleep before 7pm or something, after that all houses are dark and silent. The joys of the countryside… Only a misguided cock can break the silence with its misguided songs before midnight… Mutant cocks? Zombie cocks? Ermm… Ewwww! Ok… back to the briefing… Reached home before ten. The good thing was that I was quite awake for a while… the bad thing was that I was quite awake for a while… Sleepless in Anthill at your service. So… I just wanna sleep all day… If I only could… Damn duty. Got to work five minutes late… not bad, after all I got out of the house at 7:45am. That’s pretty late.

Three movements in the office, the crew was swift and fast, and already connected all the equipment. No one to take me to Aguadilla… Guess I’ll end up going by myself, perhaps next week if I get to fix the car’s back door this next weekend. We’ll see how that turns out.

INTERMISSION: A mild reminder:
This is my place for being all psyched out, fangs out, howling mad and spitting fire at the world. Hence, the naming of this blog RANTINGS.of a MAD witch. I rant here… the good, the bad, the ugly from my everyday woes and worries and successes alike. It is how I communicate with fellow earthlings and creatures of the dark. Please, and I repeat, PLEASE do not take anything personal. When I am specific I throw names with rants, not generic babbling. So unless your name is thrown to the middle of the circle of fire, just relax and enjoy. I know each and everyone of you, and so I know each one’s talents and flaws. Nevertheless, I love you all the same. In Perfect, things are pretty boring and unchallenging. This is not Perfect… And I give thanks that THAT pharmacy will soon be at walking distance from my work. Everything else, lighten up. I am moody 24/7, but that is me. I’m a selfish attention whore, yes, but I do understand everyone’s business. Just don’t lean on good intentions, many wars have happened because of good intentions. Lean on facts, on doing, on action, on truth. And remember that crying in front of a grave is useless, what matters is what you do for your loved ones when you are alive. From what I say and do, all that sums it up is ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS. So, no apologies are necessary from me, or for me. Whatever you have, bring it on. In my darkness I embrace you with all the love I have within me. It may be tough love, piercing love, steel love… but always is genuine and true. When I call someone a friend, something very deep and very special must have been going on for quite a while. I don’t take words lightly, and I don’t take people for granted. My human side expects the same, so it gets disappointed and angry. My godly side understands, forgives and moves on. Being dark and wicked doesn’t mean being evil. And whoever that really knows me know that truth from heart, and from experience.

And so, Alice went through the looking mirror, and found a whole new world… wicked and twisted, but oh so fun! Run, bunny, run!

Mi Señor siempre me hace justicia

...

Om-bli-gui-to… Ya empezamos mal… (Sight) In two weeks will be the oh-so-great secretaries week, so they made a commitee that will take care of coordinating the event (as they do every year)… And somehow I always get dragged into it. They want to do this wow activity with only $45 that they have gathered so far (without much effort because the girl in charge of getting people to pay doesn’t like to ask for money… WTF!). Common sense… Hmmm… What an innovative idea. So following my common sense they followed the “idea” of asking people to bring in items and food instead of money… I can’t get why thinking about that is innovative… been there done that… but what a concept! And after assigning the items the committee was so surprised now there is food to spare… It doesn’t get better than that, huh? Whatever… There is the quest to find someone to come and give some kind of entertainment to the secretaries. At least someone found a contact that may be able to give a small self-defense/stress relieving thinguie and a “bomba & plena” thinguie. That should be fun and different. I’m very afraid about what may come up in matters of setup, as I always end up doing the décor and I am not so willing anymore. I may direct, but I cannot get on chairs or stairs… So that should be interesting. There is always drama and useless challenge…

Besides that, I’ve got someone who is pissed because they denied her a symposium because if she needed information on computers there is the IT department for that… LOL The blindness of those in power… This person is in charge of virtual employment, and her interest on attending a commercial symposium about Telecommunications and Internet has to do with making contacts that may turn into future employers for the program she was asked to develop… The joys of working in a place with no vision… They don’t even see what is in their nose. Sadly.

Yesterday the mage came early from work, so we watched Swordfish and Spirited Away. It was really nice to actually have him around in a weeknight. It makes a big difference in everything…

Groundel needs bandages and insulin. I got some contacts to see if he can get them from non-profit entities… Everyone opens their mouth but at the time to act no one do anything to solve the problems. That is what pisses me off from people. I wish I could solve it all myself, but sadly my finances cannot withstand much especially now. I have not been able to get the friggin test strips I need, and yesterday I ran out of syringes… Zordaks friend solved the syringe dilemma for the day, and I will see how I get the strips on Friday… Groundel has his foot exposed to the air because he has no non-stick pads and no bandages to wrap it all. He also ran out of insulin yesterday morning, along with syringes. (sight) Being diabetic and young is so lovely… Between his post-surgery woes and my being pregnant the odds for having some spare cash to keep up both maintenance expenses are completely out. My budget is shaken by doctors visits and friggin healthy food that I have to eat without question. The domino effect on everything is distressing. And the stress I get from it all makes me shed like a cat... and is quite depressing. Having your hands tied when you want to do things, when you wanna solve problems, is completely outraging and frustrating. There is no break from the string of bad luck, and payments… It’s all about the money…

No computer and no internet at home is driving me insane. I feel completely cut off the world. I cannot sell things to at least solve daily expenses. I cannot talk to people when I want to. I cannot get creative and do stuff and find goodies and news and opportunities… Ugh! Wanna get a book or two that some people have recommended, and can’t do that. Wanna take my mind of the stupid house with its stupid problems, but can’t even go meet with Nature because now you have to pay to go find a parking in public leisure places. It’s insane… Now they will start charging the stupid tax on non-processed food… The government keep milking the working class without any pity at all. And it is a wonder that suicides have increased… that crime keeps increasing…

Pasando el Niágara en bicicleta...

I wish I could at least play some Dungeons, so part of reality could be gone… but not even that. Working weekdays, followed by working on house chores on weekends… followed by more working weekdays… non-stop… And you cannot even enjoy a Chinese ice-cream because you don’t have the almost two dollars they charge now… An evil routine in which you keep making fat the system, while you get thinned down and jaded and there seems no escape at all… Oh, life is so beautiful! Smile because you are alive! Smile because you have family and friends and shelter and food and work! Smile because you have an education and freedom of deed/thought/speech! Smile because every second of your life has been schemed by everything that surrounds you so you don’t really have to think too much about anything! Why be troubled? Why feel helpless?

I am NOT sorry. This is NO way of living. This is NO life. Living being forced to give everything you have, and don’t have, is NOT living. Living without being able to enjoy a sunset is NOT living. Living not being able to sleep because the system ties up your dreams is NOT living. Living knowing you cannot breakout because of the consequences on other people’s lives, because you need the money, because you are the main pillar of a building, is NOT living. Life? Beautiful? Not even fairy tales are beautiful… There are always shadows that lurks and brings misery and unhappiness. Sometimes more, sometimes less… But the wheel always spins and is never in your favor. Especially if you fight for justice. Especially if you have high goals and dreams. Especially when you want to genuinely make a difference. It would be nice if only once in a while the wheel could turn for you…

"Tranquilo, Bobby, tranquilo"

Priming, birthday, and MORE dissapointments

...

Holy Friday was quite busy. Primed some walls while the mage primed the ceiling. Watched Madonna’s Confessions Tour. Awesome. Breathless. The woman will always be my favorite idol, standing right next to Siouxie and Cher. Didn’t felt like going anywhere or seeing anyone… besides, no cash to spare.

Saturday… Had to get out and do some grocery shopping, the fridge was almost empty. Got the necessary evils, paint for the living room and so, back home. Watched the Grudge (American version), followed by my Ju-On (japanese version) just to compare notes… I am sorry, but Asian horror movies should NOT be translated into flimsy remakes so that Americans can understand them… It takes only a bit of cultural research to understand the imagery and the reasoning behind their stories… It goes to show how simple things have to be put so people can actually get them… Only cult psychos understand the real thing… Oh, so be it… But remakes are truly making me sick!

Sunday… My Birthday. I was born just as the rising sun dispelled the night, some 34 winters ago. Birthday celebration? I wished… I wanted to do something, but upon checking my bank account a disruption in the force had sent everything down the drain… Although I will have a forbearance until next year, the student loan people charged me this month anyway, and so I found myself in a negative number. Headache. Beyond headache.

Got a call from Coriolis congratulating me, and then a call from Groundel singing the Bday theme song. There was a small earth tremor as we spoke (the excitement of the day, seems it was felt through Mayaguez, CaboRojo and Hormigueros) So… Nothing else to do but visit auntie, who at least made a strawberry cake just for me, and a hearthy chicken “asopao” with asparagus topping and some “almojabanas”. Happy birthday to me… Barriguita llena, corazón contento.

Went with the mage to pickup Groundel, so we would go to Easter mass… Since it was after dark, the church giving service was not the one I’m used to, but we went anyway… Ugh! Talk about sacrifices… A closed place is not a place to burn incense. At the end I was left with a big headache and allergy. Plus the whole ceremony was a pompous empty thing… Well, that church is all about that… pompousity… no spirit over substance. Just like going to the cathedral, which I also despise. I rather go to the small church where I got married. That place is warm and cozy, the people are real and go because of the meaning of it all and not because of appearance, and the priest is genuinely in love with the people… You can feel it. So… Lesson learned… Try the very best to go to Fatima services, because everywhere else is just about image and no soul…

Delivered Groundel, and went home. Watched the Academy of Bards episode of Xena Season 1, and off to bed.

Monday: Had a WIC appointment… or so I thought… I didn’t realize that the date was for May, not April… So… Had the whole morning off, and went to the bank to make a small deposit that should straighten the account… sort of… Courtesy of auntie who gave me her week’s check as birthday gift. She’s a pain in the whoohoo, but she always gives so easily, and even without my asking. Shouldn’t expect any less, she’s the one who whould be called my mother. Anyway… Went home and primed a bit more. Made the mage sweat a little as he had to fix some floor holes with cement, rip out some wall border stuff, and fill up with primer some corners in the ceiling. By midday got ready in a fix, ate a quick lunch and off to work I went. So, here I am… Just as I expected… Nothing of interest going on… Should have stayed at home… Oh, well… Got a bday e-card from Kara (thanks a bunch!!! That was lovely) and from my family in Texas. May go get more “asopao” when I get off work, and to visit Groundel for a bit so the traffic goes away before I head home… Traffic annoys me too much.

Hopefully sleep will be sound, and this week will pass away quickly… Need to prime the floor before the weekend… so the walls can be painted on Saturday and the floor on Sunday morning.

Kitties feeling happy. They’ve been roaming the second floor for 3 nights in a row… Supervised outings, but it means freedom for them.

Me, feeling a bit blah with a bit sad and a bit content. Each passing year b-days get even more crappier… and life complicates things so plans are always ditched and you don’t really get to do the things you really want to do… and you don’t get the chance to gather the people you want to gather, in a same place, to celebrate in a simple way… Not even at my wedding date could that be accomplished… I wanted to be with my best friends after the ceremony, and that was not humanly possible… Raven had to go, El Calvo had to go, Groundel couldn’t stay… Coriolis, LS and Popu were the miracles of the night… Even on dates that are supposed to make an everlasting memory shit happens… But I guess that’s life. And in my case, I should be used to it… Not even once in my life have I been able to say that I had enjoyed an event completely, because always something happens… correction, something REALLY happens… My sweet sixteen was not so sweet, my high school graduation was about making my mother socially happy while she took pictures of everyone but me… WTF… my college graduations went by with only Groundel as witness… and now my wedding went by being dismissed as a common nothing, being forgotten as well…

Celebrations were not meant to be in my pedigree… or in my life, period. I am all about making them, but not being celebrated… In a way that is sad… and it bites. But whatever… I do make lemonade with the lemons I get from family and those close that should know better… Everyone has better things to do. I have always been unimportant when it really comes to being taken into account for anything besides painting murals and decorating... What about LIFE? Seems a phone call really hurts the fingers and speaking handicaps the brain… Sometimes it feels I am the only dumb-ass who still likes celebrating people because of who they are, because they are so special for me… Not even once has anyone returned that favor. In 34 years. So… I am lucky I love lemonade. Got jars to spare.

And that's it for today's whining... Back to the Days of My Sucky Life...

Holy Thursday...

Right...

Got work the whole day… Oh, well… I remember when Holy Week was all about Christ, reminiscing on his life and deeds, reading the Bible, watching movies about saints and prophets… What? No one misses watching the Ten Commandments? And all those old religious historical flicks! It was a time when we only relayed on the actors doing their best to actually transport us to those worlds of the past with no aid of special effects or eye candy… And actually being very successful at that. Oh, how I miss those movies! Anyway… Now, not even the afternoon of the Holy Thursday is given to be with your family… And people are too into going to the beach and having fun, not even taking a second to think about the meaning of the holyday, of the impact that Jesus had on all cultures and human lives. It is understandable when kids know nothing of the allegories and so ignore the main ideas, but it is a duty of grown-ups to teach some, so values are perpetuated… The greatest illness in our society is the lack of values, the carelessness, the death of innate culture and traditions… People get so involved into living their consumerist lives and forget the important lessons of our ancestors… And so the same mistakes come to pass, over and over… And then we ask ourselves why…

Well… Tomorrow I hope to get some work done at the house, at least filling the holes with cement. Will also try to prime all the walls on the cleared side. Would like to paint the floor on Saturday but I doubt that the cement would be dry, so I may launch into the fireplace wall project… Hopefully Sunday morning can do for painting the floor (maybe), going to church, and the afternoon and night can be used for breezing and celebrating my 34th birthday… Geesh! I’m getting closer to the big 40’s, and it’s all going so fast! Monday morning gotta attend a WIC orientation, requisite of the program… so I shall go to work during the afternoon. Already a full weekend… There is no rest for the wicked…

Yesterday went with Groundel to see The Last Mimzy. It was ok... but if you have other choices, just wait and rent it. Not that spectacular or original... A Sunday family flick...

Bellybutton of the week...

What's up? Hmmm... Let's see...

Coriolis taking this week off... Hope he flips through channels of ease and wonder. He deserves a good rest from his crappy job.

Groundel has an appointment at the rehab place today. Hope he gets in the program so he gets enough benefits to straighten up his life for once and for all. Hell yeah!

Raven been flapping around small bears, love to see that something positive is finally going on in her life! Yes, changes ARE good!

Zordak doing manly man stuff at the house, hopefully he doesn't end up breaking his back (no Breakback Mountain crack jokes please!). Yesterday was our monthaversary, and although he had work he gave me a nice little surprise in the morning: Violet tulips that happenned to open overnight and a lovely card. This has been the Kodak moment of the week, now back to our lousy normal lives!

Kitties happy and complaining less due to small therapies of wand magic.

Me, woes and wonders galore. Doctor's appointment yeaterday, and things are looking good. I may feel like crap, and definitively have the blues, but things are running smoothly and apparently I don't have to worry much yet. So, since everything is in control and seems certain and out of risk (for now) I will make the official announcement, ok? We are having a baby! That has been the main source of my being ill almost 24/7, and of my diabetes creating havok. I'm high risk, anything could happen anytime, and the full picture was not looking good. But yesterday the doctor's preachings were different. Seems I have achieved something after all... New healthy, in-control eating habits have kicked in FINALLY. All test results were quite pleasant, and although the blood sugar is a bit high it is not out of control, and everything is developing smoothly. Still no idea of what it might be... but the names are certain: If it's a boy, he will be Vincent Sebastian- From the old tv series of Beauty and the Beast where dearly beloved Beast was Vincent, thoughtful, kind and deadly. Sebastian comes from the lobster in my favorite Disney movie... and of course from one of my favorite classic composers. If it's a girl, she will be Deirdre Valeria- Deirdre is a Mayfair witch from Anne Rice's Witching Hour, a name that I've also used for one of my main AD&D npc's... a warmage anti-paladin of Kali. Valeria is, of course, Conan's wife turned valkyrie. So, make your bets!

Work as sucky as ever, but what the hell... They will only give half the day tomorrow, so plans for a park outing are... out? May plan something for Saturday or Sunday, really feel like going to the zoo... It all depends on its open hours, though... Gov and its stupid National Parks hours suck much, especially when they actually don't take into account the dates people may have available...

Whatever... Gotta go on and improvise something... God, I'm so bored!

Holy Week...

plus Weekend Woes...

Well, you may say weekend started early for me, since I was feeling too crappy on Friday to actually go to work. Had a fever and body aches, and figured I had already done much during the week… Not that anyone appreciated anything… It’s as if I ate plastic steaks, I’m transparent and invisible… Being there or not, its not like they notice anything at all… Whatever…

All in all, finished Anne Rice’s Christ the Lord (finally, as I had began reading it like 4 times!). Liked very much how she portrays Jesus as a child, how the whole novel is in first person. You really get a feel of the troubles of that era, as usual, an exact picture of the time period. The lady excels at that, always.

Put up the kitty fence on the stairs corridor. And while I was giving it some finishing touches, a wasp made an appearance (seems that the wind caught it and threw it inside the house by the doors floor gap). Upon spotting its long needle I kinda decided to leave the work for the next day and hurried upstairs to feed the kitties and then sleep some. No need to tempt destiny, I don’t know if I am allergic to stings and I don’t wanna find out the hard way.

Saturday went fast enough. The mage fussed up with the kitty fence window, while I cleaned up the windows screens. Helped him up with nailing the fence to the wood, and painted the corridor’s fence while he began filling up the floor’s holes/imperfections with cement. Before we knew it night had fallen upon us, so all that was left to do was take a nice bath and watch movies until bedtime. Revisited The Eye and the Eye II. I am a sucker for those Asian horror movies…

Sunday was awful. I was feeling beat and tired and crappy all over. I was moody the whole day and night, and still have some left for the week… Perhaps it’s the time of the year and all the memories it brings… Perhaps its too many things meshed up, overloading my system. Whatever. Did the laundry in the afternoon, came back home with the kitty condo and put it up. The mage arrived some time afterwards, and we both played with the kitties and the feathered wands for a while. Kyonne was loony. As the mage began doing the dishes I went to bed. Later on, as I woke up around 2am, I heard a big noise from the kitty’s room… They had tripped the condo, and seemed that Kyonne got a lash out of it. Nothing serious as he was walking ok… He was just completely spooked and wary. I guess he saw his whole life passing by… LOL

Monday morning… Slow, VERY slow. I still feel crappy, and I wished they had given the whole Holy Week as work free… but not this year. Government will give Thursday and Friday anyway… So, it should be a nice, short 3-day week… Got some connectors so I solved one problem, and that has been the excitement of the day. The big boss asked if I had experience giving training as they plan to do a curriculum or something for computer users… Well, it’s in my resume… It all would be simpler if they actually bothered to read about the people who work for them, finding out their skills and where can be most useful. So… Hopefully that project will develop so at least days stop being completely boring.

So… This is Holy Week. Most people just see days for rest and fun and play. Others will work their ass off either at their jobs or at home... But in the middle of it all, please do stop and take some minutes to actually think about the meaning of this week. There was one person who gave up his own blood to clean our sins, to restore us spiritually, and who gave women worth and value that until then had been denied to them (yes, Jesus was a true feminist). The first and ultimate real Goth within our world… Even if you don’t believe in the whole marketed idea, just recall that there was a prophet called Jesus, who did all these things and gave word of an universal truth: Love is the way. And it is a hard way… But imagine how our world would be if that universal truth were applied from one corner to the other, to humans as well as beasts and Nature. Our world is dying, giving out a last cry for help. Much cannot be undo… But much can be done, just by giving with love.

Hoping and wishing and praying and fishing… The truth is out there… within yourself.

Them bones, them bones!

...

What can I say? I feel all my bones… I am beyond tired, in desperate need of rest, everything hurts and I just want a bed. Yesterday’s ordeal at the office left me as rubble. I wanted so badly to stay t home and sleep and be lazy all day long… No one would miss me at work… No one really gives much if I show up. Things can be solved from San Juan after all… when they feel like solving them. I ask for tools and equipment and nothing… Writing in detail what is going on and what must be done is worthless. And here they only remember I exist when there is an office move… so I must use my MBA to move stuff around and throw cables… Lovely… After that moment when all computers are setup, everyone goes back to forgetting I exist… And so the story keeps itself within the same loop. Right now I need the benefits, so I will have to suck it up for a bit more… But it’s tiresome, taxing… mentally draining… and it makes me angry.

Whatever… Besides that… Went with Groundel to see Pan's Labyrinth. Nice little flick, entertaining, in your face… Not too surprising, though… I have seen and read everything before… But the tale was well written and well delivered. It just makes me wonder when everyone praised its originality and creativity, and these are things that have been done before. But, I guess it’s just me… the bookworm who has read too much, and whose imagination is too hyperactive. Ravenloft dungeon-mistress after all… there’s no turning back from that! LOL

Groundel also recalled my soon to be b-day, and got me the Korean Barbie (yes, I DO collect Barbies, especially the world ones…). So, gift, standing being made fun of at a local garments store, and entertaining movie night… What else could one want to be contempt? Got home and slept soundly… but seems that I need more rest, I feel trashed… If that is now, I don’t want to imagine in a few months… Ugh!

Zombiefied...

para variar...

Yesterday was a long day, followed by a long night. I was completely sleepless and completely beat at the same time. I had forgotten my insulin was at work and I left it in the office’s fridge… Woke up today with high sugar. Ugh! At work, 10 cubicles were installed and so I had to setup their respective computers and cabling… No comments. I just got a big headache, my blood sugar is still high (and stabilizing it will be a pain in the wohoo as usual…) and I just want a bed… Still, I promised to go to the movies tonight, so I will try to comply… After all, it’s ladies night so it’s cheaper. Hope to arrive home before 9pm so I take a warm bath and go straight to Morpheus arms…

Its not easy being a witch…
