A briefing of a looooooogaleer week...

and then some...

Ok… So now we are getting on a time warp zone or something… Last weekend both Saturday and Sunday were spent moving furniture from a donator’s home to my house. Thanks to that, now I am relatively stress free in terms of not having and empty house and in terms of it being more liveable… with potential for greatness. It will take time to refurbish the antiques and create some pillows and window treatments to match, so the living room, the fireplace room, and the dining room will seem pieces of the same jigsaw and be flawless… The kitchen will be a WiP that I shall address somewhere in 2 to 3 years. Right now… Main concerns are light and cistern… Need light to put the cistern to work. After that, the bathroom upstairs will need a revamp to make it usable. Followed by the one downstairs. Seems that I will get an A/C in place for the one I gave granny, so the main bedroom will enjoy that bliss. Also, got a king bed, a much needed donation. The family room will be no problem at all… gotta get the plastic covers and put everything in place. For now the functional kitchen will be upstairs… Everything getting a rightful place. Wheeeeee, o algo. The Big Orc and the Mage did a splendid job moving heavy stuff around, sweating like manly men…

Wedding stuff… Yesterday was “Getting the paperwork done and legal” day… Getting the papers at the government’s office, getting tested at the lab, finding LadyDoc to sign papers, back to the demographic register to get the License, and now we just need to give the papers to Father Edwin so the task is completed.. Just 8 more days until doomsday… And it all is going fast and certain. We didn’t expect a house that would actually have a place to sleep… or a honeymoon… And somehow, Someone has allowed these blessings to happen. Expect the unexpected… A rule of thumb. It all had to happen with the right match. Flawless magic, flawless deserved victory.

Went to see a nutrition lady on Tuesday. She wants me in a 1,900 calories diet… Just before a honeymoon… Like I will think of carrots and tomatoes when at Monster’s Café… Geesh! The woman is psycho and very military-like… Why I keep meeting these cartoonish characters? Anyway… she expects me to test my blood sugar 6 times a day. No problem if I had strips and lancets for free. Seems doctors don’t really pay attention when you say you cannot afford this stuff… Either that or they assume you will get loads of it because rich mommy or daddy will pay… O algo. Sadly I pay everything myself. No comments… The mage took care of that with the magic of his cards… At least he reinforces that it is a necessary evil…

In the middle of it all, I started having a fever on Wednesday night… and it went through the whole day yesterday. Went to bed at 4:00pm… Night was the same… High fever and coughing and not being able to take anything but acetaminophen and put an ice bag in my forehead. The fever broke this morning at 6something… So I gathered what was left of my strength to come to work. This cold is already taxing me, and feels like the fever will come back anytime soon… If it does, I’m out of here. I need a bed and just to lay on it. Big headache, big body ache, sore throat… Damn the flu season! This is bad timing for getting sick… I still have too much to do… I guess a visit to ER is in schedule, para variar… I just don’t seem to be able to get away from hospitals…

Groundel got out of the hospital on Tuesday’s afternoon (Wheeeeeeeeeee o algo). Seems to be doing better, but that one is another one who is out of needles, strips and lancets. The diabetic curse…

Coriolis has a wedding tomorrow, and will be the Godfather. Up, this is the year of the Godfather for him. LOL Oh well… Hope he can make it over here on Sunday, we need to straighten out the cake stuff once and for all.

Raven been very helpful with everything that has been going on. If it were not for her I would be completely medically impaired. Thanks a lot for everything you do, in and outside office hours. I know you have a busy schedule all the time, and I appreciate everything you do.

Same goes for LadyDoc. She doesn’t have to be so nice, but she is. And both the mage and I appreciate it a bunch.

As for close encounters of the seventh kind… I get reassured of the reasons why I dislike most of my family and why I rather stay away from them all. So I am a big-mouth, foul-mouth, whatever-mouth for them all… What is new? I say the truth to whomever, wherever, and I always have proof to stand by it. So I am fearless. Men can be fearless, but when a woman is fearless she gets banned as an opinionated bitch that curses too much and that has no reason to be so rabid… I have never cared about everyone else, but it bothers that my aunt takes sides with the enemies. Of all the people she should know my reasons to act and behave, and she knows that I do have plenty of etiquette when I want to.

Such a big issue about invitations! Geesh, people, lighten up! The ones that have not been delivered yet I have not been able to deliver because… ding, ding, ding! No time! Being sick and doing everything else is more than a bitch! Especially with my condition! So, please, BEAR WITH ME and stop whining so much!

So… Its Friday. Can’t go to Aguadilla, can’t drive so far today. Gotta run home, and huddle in my nest, and hope that whatever I have goes away so I can actually do what must be done this next weekend…

Pieces... Bits...

And more pieces...

Groundel back at the hospital ever since last week... Lovely hybernation... A complete package including 3 daily meals and nurses poking him. LOL Well, not all is so happy. His half-foot got an infection, so he's been getting intravenose meds but they were not enough... So, he had a minor surgery today. Back from the ER, seems fine... In room 206 at Perea Hospital, still no phone connected but you may drop by to make time less evident in that tiny rathole.

Me, 16 1/2 days until doomsday. LOL And so I guess the countdown begins! Found out a place with lovely yummy cakes that Coriolis can afford, so he should be happy-er. Not that he doesn't seem happy already... Guess who's getting the bridal flowers from the bride? By an exponential of two? LOL Who knows... Everything simple and to the point, NO reception. We will go to Longhorn after the ceremony and after saying goodbye to guests in general. Whoever who wants to spend a bit more time with us is welcome at the restaurant (each pay their own expenses, mind you! The mage and the witch are broke, so bear with us!). Anyway... Thanks to the witch's father there WILL be a honeymoon... YAY!!!! Almost two weeks away from the reality bites of this cursed island of madness... Now THAT's the real treat!

Invitations FINALLY arrived and have been sending them this week... Expect them by next week, though... I have so much faith in the postal system... Just in case it doesn't arriveon time (or in case it gets stuck in the Twilight Zone) I'll scan and post it here, soon enough. Not now. Too tired, with too many things to do... I'll get home straight to bed, that much is certain.

Was in Aguadilla today. Tomorrow I will only be in my office during the morning. And the weekend is already full... And soon enough we will salute the Three Kings again!

Sheesh...

Newsflash

... o algo

WORK
Well, back into the rat race... Nothing different just some changes in supervisors for some people... No changes that affect me. Inconsequential... I know I must go away from this soon to be Republic to actually have a decent job and a decent life. If I killed myself studying it wasn't to be this painting in a wall that everyone ignores! Out of patience... Wish the right opportunity would appear for me to move on, and leave this forsaken place.

HOME
Will try moving some necessary evils during the week and in next weekend. Gotta put together at least the second floor... So at least SOMETHING can be called a decent home... I know, home is where the heart is, but a little pampering is always a must!

FRIENDS
Small and brief appearances, but at least they have been constructive. Wish they could be around more frequently, miss them all a lot. But, life goes on...

WEDDING
El Calvo finding out quotes, Raven with some solutions, Keeper almost done with the dresses, just gotta figure out about the aftermath of the ceremony and if there can be a small getaway.

Busy bee, as usual... Many things going on, much stress... And thankful for all the help I'm getting.

A new year unfolds...

for better or for worst...

It’s been a while, but not because of lack of inspiration… Lack of time, lack of energy… Well, maybe… Since right now a party is in all its glory at the house next door, here I am! For your pleasure… LOL

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Yeah, I kinda missed saying that… It was on that week that granny was taken to the hospital because of a pain and now is a terminal cancer patient… Still there, now in a room all by herself… Can’t get up and won’t accept being wired so… Waiting for the Reaper to finally release her…

What a way to begin the year… Bitter-sweet… Been trying to prime the house. Groundel was of help, but there is much to be done and I only have two hands… At least he kept me company. The toll for overworking myself for almost 3 days was two days of complete shutdown… And then some…

Attending church celebrations: The night before Xmas, New Years Eve, and today at 10am will be the Three Kings Day celebration… It has not been a sacrifice, I love how the priest gives mass. And he seems very fond of the mage and me. In the end, we got the wedding when we wanted it: February. The mage cannot get his Confirmation in a while, so no sense waiting so long, and the priest agreed on that. Yay!

So… The Last Official Wedding Date: February 3, 2007. At 2:30pm in the Our Lady of Fátima church, in my hometown. We don’t expect much commotion, we both have only a handful of friends… But we do expect to be surrounded by all who in one way or another have touched our lives forever. So, if you feel compelled to join us, you are very much welcomed. We will have a small gathering when the ceremony is over in the surrounding areas of the church, most likely the kiosk. Invitations should be sent after the 15th of January.

WEDDING PARTY:
Maid of Honor: Raven
Godfather: Coriolis
Bridesmaids: Cindy & Melo
Flowergirl: Mandy
Ringbearer: Barbie
Coordinator: El Calvo
Brought to you by Kymill the Bard’s Productions

I hope that Groundel can join us as well… I know it all is hard on him, but I also know if he doesn’t go he will regret missing his best friend’s wedding. And he knows that he’s family to me. Always.

New Year brought many new surprises… With it, I began taking shots of insulin. Seems to control my diabetes much better… Still draw blood each time I do it… Hate needles! Was on ER two days ago due to an infection that almost got to my kidneys, but that is under control, amen to that.

Bought a 600 gallons cistern thanks to daddy’s funding. The mage got the pieces needed and hopefully it will be setup next week. At least that headache is vanishing a little…

Found El Calvo at home, and he agreed to help with the wedding decoration and details… within some medieval touches. A big weight lifted off my shoulders. I was flipping with what must be done… As usual, his guidance and direction, and certainty makes me breathe and smile. The mage’s mom will take care of some food, with some contributions of auntie… And of course, Coriolis sweet contribution too. So, the plan is coming together! Who knew!

Happily Never After: Cool cartoons, sucky to watch in Spanish… But at least it was fun. Loved the stepmom…

Night at the Museum: WOW! I was surprised… A GOOD MOVIE!!! Entertaining, hilarious, witty, funny, sexless, cute, filled with action and with enough drama… Gotta love the President and the cowboy-romanboy affair! GO SEE IT!!!

The music at the neighbor’s home is louder by the minute… sleep is overrated… Ugh! But I know… The little people must have fun too… Sheesh! Gotta find some sleep…
